Travel Training Summer School 2006

We ran 2 summer schools for students with learning disabilities aged between 16 and 22. Some were moving from secondary school to begin college in September and the others were present college students. Most of them were used to being transported (taxi, minibus) from home to school or college. The idea was to offer them an intensive week of practical, 1-1, travel training, interspersed with assessments and personal safety exercises. Both summer schools were successful and most of the students are now travelling to College independently.
